Oh, the very beginning. The Frugal Fox became an LLC in 2017 but began much earlier! At 19-years-old, I knew personal styling was what I was made to do but had NO CLUE how to make that a reality in my local town.
As a single mom with a two-year-old, I started working retail at my favorite local buy-sell-trade shop where I learned all about brands; vintage and new.
From there I worked 7+ years in retail, at local boutiques and big box stores, such as Express and New York & Co.
I bonded with my customers, and they would return asking me to style them for special events or shop for a whole new wardrobe.
I found that many times I’d remind them of a piece they previously bought, which they could wear to an event or carry over from past season and continue wearing in a new way.
I’d watch women grow frustrated with their wardrobe, knowing they were already buying great pieces! I couldn’t figure out why they would want to come in so often.
Eventually, I decided to take my work to YOU so you didn’t have to come to me! Thus began, Closet Cleanouts and me teaching how to dress different Body Types so you only buy the BEST pieces.
No more mindless shopping, which only hurts your time, wallet and the planet. In America alone, an estimated 11.3 million tons of textile waste – equivalent to 85% of all textiles – end up in landfills on a yearly basis.
I had been thrifting for years and creating outfits I’d see in the magazines, and wanted to teach women how to do the same thing - but THEIR way! When you know better, you do better!
Today, I’ve helped hundreds of women find confidence with clothing! Shopping is no longer overwhelming. Getting dressed is a breeze. And confidence oozes out of them!
